24 May Reader Projects: Pallet Planter
I love seeing what you guys do with ideas you find here or tutorials I post. Seriously, it makes me really happy inside. So you can imagine my delight when reader Sarah sent me these images of the planter she made using my Pallet Planter Tutorial.
She said she found the pallet behind her garage, and it was a hot mess, but she saw potential. She cleaned the cobwebs and dirt off, gave it a nice coat of mineral oil (which she said really helped the natural wood grain to come through), and went to work. I love love love the plants she chose, which Sarah said is actually a ground cover! She didn’t put the plants in every “shelf” since they will grow and trail down the planter.
My favorite part of her pallet planter? The architectural circle in the middle surrounded by flaking paint. Completely natural, aged over time, simple beauty. Adore.

Posted at 16:40h, 24 MayThe plant is Creeping Jenny. It is great in pots and window boxes and very prolific. It even lives through mild winters in the South!
