Crate & Barrel’s Clean Slate

Crate & Barrel’s Clean Slate

Crate & Barrel recently debuted their new Clean Slate line, have you seen it?  I’m thinking it is their answer to West Elm’s Market that I wrote about a few weeks ago.

After studying the collection, I thought I would highlight a few of my favorites for you.

The French Kitchen Paper Towel Holder is a beautiful white marble with grey veins.  At $19.95 (with free shipping through May 19th!), I think this is a lot of bang for your buck.

I have been making some of my own cleaning products for years.  I thought the design of this Recipe Natural Cleaning Bottle with the juicer in it was a really creative idea.  The bottle also comes with a book of recipes for mixing your own cleaning solutions.

I bought a wrapping cart on a Black Friday deal (not at Crate & Barrel), and I have been so so happy with it.  It actually looks nearly identical to this one from C&B.  During Christmas time, it was so easy to wheel it around room to room, and I really like my ribbon and paper being in the same place.  Having a cart also helped me weed out wrapping paper with not much left on the roll, or rolls I knew I would never use again.  Crate & Barrel’s Wrapping Cart looks like a great way to keep you organized!  (Tip:  I placed a basket on the shelf underneath the ribbon racks to store extra ribbon in.)

If you cook with garlic as much as I do (or any other stinky food), you would appreciate the Rub Away Bar.  I have never tried it, or heard of it for that matter, but judging by the 27 reviews, it works great!

Does anyone else have a difficult time getting dried spills off of their refrigerator shelves?  You know, when you’re doing a deep clean?  These Clear Fridge Liners may be my answer!

I am loving this Chrome 4-Drawer Rolling Cart!  I could seriously (and cutely) fill this up with wallpaper, fabric, and paint samples galore!

Having loved the vintage, industrial hamper look for awhile now, I definitely gave the Steele Divided Canvas Sorter a second glance.  Not only would it be good for separating laundry, I think it would be terrific to put laundry away!  Girls room, boys room, keep all of the little socks together.  This past weekend, I overheard my oldest telling a friend, “we have A LOT of laundry at our house.”  Yes, we’re super interesting.

If I had a shallow cabinet in my kitchen/mudroom, I would definitely be considering the Three by Three System.  All of those little hooks, and organizational components really make me happy.  Maybe a little too much.

What do you think of Crate & Barrel’s “Utility Made Beautiful” product lineup?  You can see the whole collection here.  Anything you need to have?   And aren’t you loving the renewed interest in simple, pretty, everyday items?

I’m loving that paper towel dispenser. It looks so nice and it would actually be sturdy! That rubaway bar is interesting also…I read the reviews but I’d be curious to try it out for myself.

What great posts to wake up to! Thanks for doing all the work to put up C&B’s new toys and peeks at people’s planting-fetish strategies. Yum!

Good ideas Grace! A little FYI on removing odor from your hands, just hold onto a stainless steel spoon under cool running water. If you still smell the odor make sure you touch that part of your hand to the spoon. I don’t know how it works but it works!

CJ, what an awesome tip! I am totally trying this! And that is strange, I wonder why that works? Thanks so much for reading and your helpful comment! G

LOVE the marble papertowel holder. Like you, have not personally used the Rub-A-Way bar, but have heard amazing things from those that do….they swear by it!

Well, I read about the Rub Away Bar at Crate and Barrel it tells us why it works. It is stainless steel too! Either way, spoon or Rub Away Bar, more smelly hands. Did you try it yet?

    Hi Grace,

I’m new in this blog and all I can say is WOW!

I love minimalist. One of my daughters asked me, why homes today started to look empty, all things are small and consumes little space. I just said, “they look nice don’t they?” I received the answer I was expecting. She said, “they do!”

So, I told her that’s the reason why minimalist is being the “in” thing of today.

They look nice and it fits everyone’s eyes – A little generalization here. 🙂

Well, I would just like to ask you if a shipping container house fits your taste? I’m thinking of customizing a shipping container to build my car garage. My question is about the color combination. I don’t know and I’m lost when it comes to colors.

So, yea I want it to look professional yet open for dirt.

Thanks a lot for your attention!

    Andrew
