Yummy Thanksgiving Treat: Guest Take Home Gift

Yummy Thanksgiving Treat: Guest Take Home Gift

lickmyspoon.com

A friend of mine gave me this nifty gifty last year for Christmas, and I have not forgotten it.  This recipe is so delish, you will want to eat it straight from the jar!  If you love salty and sweet, this salted caramel sauce is sure to delight.  Put it in a cute container or jar, and you have a darling delectable gift for someone you love to enjoy.  Place your decorated container of choice in front of each place setting at the table or give them as teacher gifts!  Believe me, everyone will love it!

First things first, make the recipe.  Found here.

If you read this post, you know I have plenty of jars laying around, and I love to find different uses for them. The sauce would look so cute in a container like this, too, found at most craft and hobby stores.

As for me, I simply used a jar I already had on hand.  (although I do think I will go pick up the jars pictured above and give them as teacher gifts)

Since the lid is not the prettiest thing in the world, I traced around it, cut some burlap to fit on top, and hot glued it on.  You could put pretty paper in there too if you would like.

I wanted to make a cute, simple little tag so I created a document on my computer and typed the word “thankful” in the ‘American Typewriter’ font.  Then I held the paper up to the light and put my die cut tag over it to make sure it would fit.  I taped the tag on top of the word making sure it was centered and placed it in the printer so the word would print on the tag.  Make sense?

I attached the tag to the jar using orange bakers twine, brown bakers twine, and regular twine.  (colored bakers twine found here.)

On the back of the tag, I printed the url to the recipe.  One taste, and your recipient will want to know how to make more!

I love to dip apples in this and drizzle it on a pie, but most of all, I love it in plain black coffee!  Yum-yum!

How will you use this recipe/idea?

I would love to hear your thoughts!
