Punky Brewster & Me

Punky Brewster & Me

For the past few months, I have been writing articles for the “Home Made Simple” website.  You may recognize the “Home Made Simple” name as it has been on the OWN network for a few years, and it is hosted by none other than Punky Brewster Soleil Moon Frye.

We don’t get the OWN network at my house, but have any of you ever seen this show?  I took a peek at a few of the webisodes, and it looked pretty entertaining, and the experts on the show had some good ideas.

Anyway, since I’m writing for the site, and she hosts the show, there’s some degree of connection there, right?  I’ll actually never forget the first time I saw Punky Brewster – I remember very distinctly thinking she looked like my Rainbow Bright.  As a real person.  With brown hair.

Moving on…I thought from time to time, I would share my articles from the site with you.

First off, ’tis the season for decorating with pinecones.

The second one I wanted to share with you today was written on a decorating style near and dear to my heart, Art Deco.

Of course, I love design and beautiful interiors and a good find, but I actually really like to write.  I wrote tons of books as a child, and journaled through most of my life.  In college, a professor submitted – unbeknownst to me, I might add – a satirical essay I wrote (on the state of Wyoming, no less) to a writing contest, and it won!  I was shocked to say the least, but writing is an art to me, and I treat it as such.  It’s a skill I’m always working on.

I hope you enjoy the articles and find something useful for you in them!  See you back here tomorrow!
