All the Happenings…

Is there any better way to see someone’s recent thoughts or “dailies” than taking a look at their cell phone images?  Here’s a little rundown of all the happenings in my world and a sneak peek at some new projects.

Remember the settees I sorely attempted to take the finish off of?  It may be hard to tell, but here they are in their newly refinished glory.  It is a very light grey wash so the woodgrain still comes through in many places.  I love it – it looks very “French antique” which is just what I wanted.

I’m currently working on a project for the sweetest family, and I can’t wait to show you!  Their installation is in a couple of weeks, and it is going to be so so beautiful.  Here is a sneak peek…

We added some wainscoting to their living room, and it turned out stunning!  It is masterfully done and a game changer for sure.

This fabulous Schumacher linen is called “Aylesbury Vase” and will be gracing the kitchen.  The colors and weight of this fabric is deliciously Schumacher, and totally fab in real life!

One of my recent finds I’m keeping just for me is this antique bell I’m going to hang near our new back door to bring the kids in from the backyard.  It reads “Qui me tangit vocem meam audit” (Latin) which means “Whoever touches me will hear my voice”.  It weighs a million pounds, and the detail is really lovely.

Although I am not a big foo dog person (I know, gasp!), I found this teeny tiny turquoise pair at an estate sale a few weeks ago and had to have them.  They were $4.

Remember this post on ceilings?  Here is a mini preview of my new living room ceiling.  I will have all the details soon on how to make this happen in your home.  I am loving the aqua color next to my charcoal popout on my fireplace wall.

Of course, projects lead to projects, right?  And down the rabbit hole we go after we discovered this.  A not fun project indeed.

My Gypsy Soul comrade, Kristen Dowd, found a spectacular pair of cornice boards for me at an estate sale (yes, she is amazing), and in my excitement, they were put up before changing out the trim.  Therefore, the trim will be changed while I stand on a ladder.  Should be interesting…more coming on this, too…

I found this fabric at Cutting Corners this weekend.  Isn’t it pretty?  The color combo is really interesting, with the tan, brown, gold, and charcoal.  The pattern is big and graphic, too.  The name of it is “Amanda”.

And of course, I had to share a shot of my little loves.  They are growing (I will have a kindergartener next year, tear) and changing and getting more hilarious.  Every day brings new challenges and silly stories.

I *should* have a new DIY up this week amongst other nuggets of information.  Have a great Monday!

You do lovely work but I would have to say your best work are those lovely children of yours and your husbands. Children are eternal. Thank you so much for sharing…

Oh thank you CJ! I wholeheartedly agree, they are my best and most difficult work. And also the work where I spend most of my time. 🙂 I am truly grateful for my sweet family, and it is just like people say…they are extensions of your heart walking around.

How do you do all this and have FOUR kids?!? (Who are adorable, by the way). I only have two and I can barely get a blog post out! 🙂

Susan, it is simple really. Prayer, coffee, and the ability to live and function happily on little sleep. 😉
