A Picture To Ponder: Kitchen Countertop Plate Rack

A Picture To Ponder: Kitchen Countertop Plate Rack

I’ve started working with my little ones on setting the table on their own.  I found this picture the other day and thought this could make it easier for them to do the job start to finish themselves.  (It makes me nervous to have them get the plates out of the cabinets.)

Of course, if you have a kitchen on the small side like I do, it takes up valuable counter space.  But this looks pretty small scale, and maybe it would be nice to have dishes you use everyday easily at hand?

Here are some other plate racks I love.  I think this is such a terrific idea for storing platters!  Hmmm…where could I put this??

The color and simplicity of the plates make this a bit more modern feel.

What do you think?  Would you have a plate rack on your counter for daily use items?  Do you prefer the plate rack look over open shelves in a kitchen?

I live the idea of showing my Grandmother’s white Havilland, but plate racks always seem a bit too country for me. Open shelves anyone?

I can see what you mean, Melissa. Open shelving is one element I am really missing in my kitchen. I SO wish I could make it work! Thank you for commenting! G

        Grace,
I love the small counter top plate rack in your first picture. Where did you source it.
        Enjoy your ideas.
